Online cash registers and fiscal printers are devices that register sales while automatically sending this sales data to the Central Cash Repository (CRK) under the Ministry of Finance.
To use an online printer, the user must ensure internet access so that the device can connect to the repository. Both fixed and mobile (LTE) connections are allowed. Mobile connections are typically used for portable cash registers or smaller single-station store setups with one fiscal printer.
The next generation of cash registers/printers available in Poland includes online devices with the e-receipt option, commonly called e-receipt printers.
According to new regulations, the consumer decides whether to receive a traditional paper receipt or an electronic version. E-receipts can be delivered via email or SMS with a link to download the receipt from the cloud.
